"Salena Jones in another stunning performance at the Cafe Royal"
"Last year I had the privilege of being enthralled by Salena Jones in the marvellous Green Room
of the Cafe Royal, just the setting for this Princess of jazz.
Greatness not only lies in great moments but in the consistency of quality delivery. In this respect,
Salena has few peers, no high and lows but simply highs all the time without a single hiccup.
This is jazz that resonates with the greatness of the age of Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington,
Louis Armstrong and Sarah Vaughan. This is no hyperbole and I urge the sceptical to disprove my verdict by listening
to the good lady herself at the earliest opportunity.
Spendidly attired in an immaculate white outfit, the ever so cool and elegant Salena went through
a delightful repertoire with the audience mesmerised. The thunderous ovation that greeted every number and the raucous encores
at the climax said it all. The audience had got quadruple their money's worth. I was a very satisfied part of this
appreciative and grateful throng.
